We're only at the end of August, but National Lottery have announced that the first Christmas scratchcard - 'Christmas Advent Calendar' will be released on 2nd September 2019.
Although this seems early to release Christmas themed games, it coincides with the release date we saw last year, with the previous version of this game released in September 2018.
This Saturday's Lotto Draw - 24th August 2019 - gives players a chance to win even more money than usual, and claim a free cinema ticket, all for just £2!
National Lottery Double Prize Event
First off, any lucky winners that match 3 balls, all the way up to 5 balls & the bonus ball will have their prize automatically doubled.
The additional prize fund will be using a special prize fund, currently set at £28 million, to afford the additional prizes. Whilst the below prizes are what is currently stated, they are likely to be reduced if there are more winners than expected.
The provisional prizes are as follows:
Whilst there are no changes for the highest (jackpot) and lowest prizes (free lucky dip), if there are multiple jackpot winners, they will be guaranteed at least £2,000,000 so they don't earn less than the second highest prize.
National Lottery Cinema Day
Secondly, National Lottery are giving away 500,000 free cinema tickets, as an additional perk for just buying a normal lottery ticket.
As National Lottery plays a huge role in UK film production, they have planned to launch National Lottery Cinema Day to celebrate!
There are a few terms around this offer, but they are fairly simple:
1. Buy a ticket - online or instore - for Saturday's Lotto draw
2. Prebook your free cinema ticket from Wednesday 21st August, at a selection of selected UK cinemas.
3. The ticket can only be used on Sunday 25th August 2019, but luckily, you've got a 3 day weekend!
Do note, that although there are 500,000 free tickets to be given away, they are available on a first-come-first-served basis, so are likely to all sell out.
Tickets can be booked from Wednesday 21st up until the Sunday, but don't wait around for too long!
To see a list of participating options, go to this page and click on the map. Each region then lists a long list of participating cinemas.

2019 marks the 25th anniversary of National Lottery being run by everyone's favourite Canadian Pension Fund - Camelot.
Since first being granted the license in 1994, they were re-granted the licence again in 2001 and then 2007. With their current licence up for review in 2023, it is likely they might not make their 30th anniversary in charge, so this could be the last big birthday edition they celebrate!
However, to do so, they have announced a range of National Lottery games to celebrate the 25 year occasion!
This is not a clickbait page title, it's actually happening!
