It's been a while since we've featured a scratchcard jackpot winner that has gone public, however, we recently found the story of 61 year Kevin Francis who just won big.
Kevin, who is from Portsmouth, decided to try his luck on a couple of the new Christmas scratchcards - Merry Millions - at £5 each.
After looking for some loose change in his pocket, he realised he had exactly £10 in £1 coins, and decided that the best thing to do would be spending it on two £5 scratchcards.
After his first ticket was a loser, he scratched the second ticket, revealing 3 airplanes symbols, which won him the jackpot prize of £1,000,000.
Kevin claims that prior to this massive win, he had only purchased 20 scratchcards in his lifetime - with every single one being a loser!
After realising he had won, he kept the scratchcard safe until the next day, when he rang National Lottery, who confirmed his was now a millionaire!
What are his plans for spending his new found wealth? Sailing lessons of course!
In a quote reported by the Daily Mirror, he said:
"There's one thing this win will enable me to do and that's learn to sail. I've lived by the sea all my life and always wanted to but either never had the time or the money to start.
"While I might not be buying sports cars or taking exotic holidays any time soon, perhaps sailing a yacht one day in the future will be my nod to being a lottery millionaire."
Kevin's winner is the second jackpot prize to be claimed on the Merry Millions scratchcard, with a remaining two prizes left to be found.
In total, five National Lottery Christmas themed scratchcards were released between September and October - have you played them yet?
